VW group made operating profit of 1.5 billion euros in 2009

VW Group proves stronger than crises and go against the current, managed to make a profit.

Volkswagen, the largest carmaker in Europe, reported an operating profit of 1.5 billion euros in first nine months of the year. The difficulties of the Great Depression brought very weak results, mainly in the third quarter of 2009.

In terms of revenue in the year 2009 proved to be much less than in 2008 due to lower volumes sold. Even in these conditions, the Volkswagen Group is doing great, with the cash worth 13.4 billion euros.

"Volkswagen is doing great despite difficult conditions. While global market falls by 12 percent, new record levels stable. This demonstrates that our strategy works even in critical moments for the automotive world, "said Martin Winterkorn, CEO of VW Group.
