Volvo C30 rechargeable hybrid car to travel 100 km

The Volvo Recharge Concept is a hybrid vehicle powered by four electric motors (one per wheel) powered by a rechargeable battery pack through a simple electrical outlet.

The battery pack allows the Volvo Recharge Concept to travel 100 km in propelling all-electric. " Whenever the need arises, the traditional engine of the four-cylinder car takes over to power electric motors and recharge the batteries.

"Our future range will include a certain percentage of electric cars. The great interest of Volvo Recharge Concept is to marry a group of batteries extremely patient responsible for the propulsion of the car and an internal combustion engine relief, "said Magnus Jonsson, Vice President of Research and Development at Volvo Cars.

The Recharge Concept was developed at VMCC (Volvo Monitoring and Concept Center) in Camarillo, California.

"This is a revolutionary invention. Indeed, anyone traveling less than 100 km per day would hardly need to stop in a service station. In the U.S., this affects almost 80% of drivers, "says Magnus Jonsson.
