The new VW Phaeton will present in America

Volkswagen has announced a new generation Phaeton will be present the U.S. market, and will position itself as more than the Audi A6 and A8.

Volkswagen said it would sell most of the range model, Phaeton sedan in the United States. Thus, Volkswagen plans to compete in the segment limousines with BMW, Mercedes or Lexus, but risking to cannibalizing sales of the Audi A8.

However, the goal is to triple sales of VW brand in the U.S., and Phaeton was necessary in this scheme. VW will not address customers luxury sedans, and will exploit a niche existence in this category. In other words, the VW Phaeton will address a customer who wants a car between the Passat and Audi A8 and the Phaeton is a perfect choice for this purpose.

Phaeton new platform based on the Audi A6, and will embody an extended version of it. Expansion outside Europe is meant to provide life propulsorelor V6, V8 or W12. Diesel units will be equipped 3.0-liter V6 and a V8 most likely will replace the current 5.0-liter V10 TDI.
