The new four-seat Smart fortwo model 2 comes in 2012

Mercedes is currently working on next-generation Smart Fortwo model, which will arrive end of next year and will have a four-seat version, known for now, as the Fortwo 2.

The latter is however expected in 2012. If until now Smart models were disadvantaged because small space, this will change with the release of the new vehicle. The future model will have four seats in the back door, thanks to the enlarged size wheelbase elongation.

Both the Smart Fortwo and his older brother will be offered with rear-wheel drive and will have the engine located under the floor in the back.

And hybrid electric versions but of the two models could also be offered.
