Recall History: Ford recall of 16 million vehicles in service

American car manufacturer Ford has recalled 4.5 million cars in service, due to failure of systems to control speed, direction shows a release of American road safety, quoted by AFP.

Administration National Highway Traffic Safety United States (NHTSA, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) has alerted owners of Ford vehicles about fire risks facing recalled 4.5 million cars in service by Ford, announced in a press agency, subordinated to the Ministry of Transport.
This is the last number of vehicles recalled by Ford, a total of "about 16 million vehicles equipped with a faulty switch the speed control system, manufactured by Texas Instrument," in May shows the communication.

"Switch allows the leakage of hydraulic fluid, which, in case of overheating, might result from burning car, even if it is stationary," the release reads.

"I call on consumers to be careful with this alert and concerned to bring the models to be repaired as soon as possible", submitted to press Secretary of State for Transport, Ray LaHood.

Cars recalled Tuesday in service are models made between 1995-2003 Ford Windstars, diesel Ford Excursion 2000-2003, Ford F-Super Duty Diesel 1993-1997 period, Ford Econolines period 1992-2003, Ford Explorer and Mercury Mountaineers period 1995-2002, Ford Rangers made in the periods 1995-1997 and 2001-2003, and Ford F53 motor vehicles manufactured in 1994.
