Oreca racing team got private first 908 HDi 2010 season. In the last three years, Peugeot was considered the fastest Le Mans prototype racing participant in the world, even if it always was and most reliable.

908 HDi diesel engine fitted to the pole-positions and won many races, finally managing to win more coveted trophy from Race 24 Hours of Le Mans this year. During that time, the cars were owned by the factory team Peugeot Sport Team.

Several private teams showed their desire to run the model 908 in 2010, but Peugeot has decided that the team Oreca be the first to break the ice.

Oreca has over 20 years experience in auto racing and competed in the championships GT, Touring and racing prototypes. During that time recorded more wins on the circuit at Le Mans.

Oreca ran with that Dodge Viper that won the GT2 class in the late 90's and this year ran on an Audi R8 SML. Oreca, Hugues de Chaunac's team will have an improved version this year 908, both for the Le Mans Series Race and for 24 hours.

Neither Team Oreca, no manufacturer Peugeot have not announced if it will cause the Audi team at Le Mans race debut Intercontinental Cup.
