Chevrolet Volt E-REV electric car allows 60 km
The final version ready for mass production (scheduled for 2010), the Chevrolet Volt e - Rev extended-range electric vehicles (E-REV); electric vehicle with increased autonomy is a four-seat before traction-lively at all times by a motor electric.
A full load, the lithium-ion battery allows for a range of about 60 km. For longer journeys, a gasoline engine can run on E85 ethanol super starts to increase self-generating electric power.
The treatment of the original aerodynamic car series also helps reduce fuel consumption and performance.
GM believes that a driver traveling 100 km per day can count approximately 2000 liters of gasoline per year, compared to a vehicle of similar size consumes an average of 7.8 l/100 km.
Chevrolet Volt Development Charges On:
- Battery engineers develop new computer testing procedure, leverage global resources to accelerate development of extended-range electric vehicles (E-REV)
- Engineers integrate T-shaped battery into vehicle structure
- Designers improve aerodynamics to lower energy consumption
