Record consumption of Peugeot 308

On October 15, the 1.6 HDi 308 sedan bvm6 broke a new record in South Africa, along 1689.7 km on a single tank.

It has performed with an average consumption of 3.4 l/100 km, Coast2Coast Challenge linking the city of Kleinzee (on the west coast of South Africa, north of Cape Town), the city of Umhlanga , Near Durban, on the east coast.

Peugeot took up the challenge of Coast2Coast Challenge to demonstrate the environmental efficiency of the 308. Peugeot also chose to put this tournament under the sign of neutrality carbon. Peugeot has also chosen to put this challenge under the sign of carbon neutrality. Thus, Peugeot has committed to planting trees corresponding number of carbon emitted during this challenge. The estimate is made by the Global Carbon Exchange and the trees will be planted on the site of Orange Farm, south of Johannesburg.

Symbolically, the participants have planted a tree after passing the finish line. The now famous 308 Coast2coast will be exhibited at the booth of the exhibition Peugeot Johannesburg from October 30 to November 9 2008.
