Mitsubishi to launch the electric vehicle I MiEV current 2009
Mitsubishi signed a draft-agreement with the Icelandic government that will allow testing of I MiEV, a small electric vehicle with 5 doors zero emission.
Mitsubishi Motor Corporation (MMC) signed this day a Memorandum off Understanding (Soft) with the Icelandic Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism which will allow the setting the test of I MiEV, a small electric vehicle with 5 doors.
Since 1980, Iceland, very concerned by the environment, obtained measurements aiming at reducing its dependence on fossil energies. The near total of the electrical energy produced in this country comes from the hydroelectricity and geothermics.
The agreement falls within this line and the Icelandic president, Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, has scheduled tests of electric vehicle under this MoU.
In Japan, vehicle zero-emission electric I MiEV is being tested by seven electric power companies.
