2010 Volkswagen provides a difficult year for the automotive sector, despite the return of sales
Director General of the German car manufacturer Volkswagen, Martin Winterkorn, said he expects 2010 to be a very difficult year for the automotive sector, despite a slight recovery in sales worldwide, reports AFP.
"I expect the sector to sell 1-2 million more cars than this year," he said, the magazine Wirtschaftswoche, forthcoming months. But the sales target markets where profit margin is modest, such as China, Brazil, India and possibly Russia, he said.
"Because of this, 2010 will be a very difficult year," Winterkorn said, adding that there was "no India" as Volkswagen can still gain market share.
The group announced on December 11 that provides a "slight increase" in sales in 2009, especially as the previously estimated that sales will stagnate after record 6.2 million cars registered last year.
