Due to funding cuts to our Child Safety Seat program, we are currently making car seat check appointments for the Children's Hospital site in Birmingham only.

Toll-Free Number Lists Upcoming Car Seat Checks
The National SAFE KIDS and Alabama SAFE KIDS campaigns have a new resource that will benefit local families. A toll-free number now lists upcoming local Child Passenger Check Up events in both English and Spanish. When calling 1-800-441-1888, parents and caregivers can find out when and where a Car Seat Check Up event is planned in their area. Additionally, parents can order a free video and brochure containing lifesaving child passenger safety information.

Permanent Inspection Sites, also known as Permanent Fitting Stations, are places where you can have your child/children's safety seats inspected. Most of these sites operate by appointment only, so call ahead because there is limited availability. For each child/car seat, you will need to make a separate appointment to allow CPS technicians enough time to install each one.
