"Keeping kids safe on the road" is the motto of Englewood's Fire Department "Team Car Seats." The team provides free safety instruction to make sure your child's car seat is properly installed. Firefighters on the team have attended and graduated from a 40-hour car seat technician course, and are available to inspect child safety seats and educate parents/caretakers on proper installation.

    Mission Statement

  • Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among children ages 2 to 14, due in large part to the nonuse or improper use of child seats and seat belts. Working with parents and our partners, our goal is to ensure every child is properly secured and safe every trip, every time.

  • There is a 90% misuse of child passenger safety seats among parents and care providers. This puts infants and children’s lives at needless risk and it is the goal of the Montrose Fire Dept. certified technicians to reduce these risks, so in 2004 the Montrose Fire Dept. started a car seat inspection program.
