What is ASF, AHR, ETS, ESP, EDS?

ASF (Audi Space Frame)

ASF (Audi Space Frame) system which designates the aluminum chassis to Audi.

AHR (Active Head Restraint)

ETS (Electronic Traction Support)

ETS (Electronic Traction Support) electronic traction control of Mercedes. Prevents skate wheels at the exits. Equivalent to EDS and the ABD.

ESP (Electronic Stability Program)

ESP (Electronic Stability Program) Electronic Stability Program. Through a variety of sensors that measure dynamic parameters of the moving vehicle and utilizing the mechanism of the ABS, is able to avoid a loss of control of the vehicle acting on the engine and brakes. The sensors send information on two aspects: the real path of the car, and also the path to the turning of the steering wheel indicate that want their driver.

These data are processed by a switchboard which is what gives the orders to both the electronic engine management; stability control can reduce the strength of the motor-like system equipped with ABS brakes, a system vital to the functioning of the ESP when using the latter to stop its wheels as necessary.

If the car turns less than you want the driver (under steer), the system slows down the inside rear wheel to compensate for the tendency to make the drive from the highway, whereas if there is the tendency (over steering) slows the wheel outside front.

EDS (Electronic Differential Slippery)

EDS (Electronic Differential Slippery) electronic differential lock. Acting with ABS, traction improving conditions when a drive wheel spins, slowed to convey to another couple. It performs a function similar to a self-differential.
