Renault Wants to be No. 1 the Electric Car Market, Said Group President

French car manufacturer renault will unveil tuesday at the Frankfurt auto show four models of electric cars, said the chief objective of the group, Carlos Ghosn, the Renault was to become the most important player in this market, reports French daily La Tribune.
"We want to become the world leader in the coming years in what concerns the zero-emission cars, representing 100% electric cars," said Ghosn.
Moreover, and Peugeot, Renault one of the contestants, will present at Frankfurt an electric model, developed in collaboration with Mitsubishi Motors, which would be put on the market in 2010. Mercedes showroom will present the German three prototypes.
The French state wants to encourage electric car market by purchasing the 40,000 such vehicles, said, in turn, Minister of Ecology Jean-Louis Borloo.
In an interview with the daily La Tribune, general delegate of Renault, Patrik pelata, today announced that Renault has not yet left the crisis, even if the current state of the group is satisfactory in terms of liquidity.
"We have a good situation on the liquidity, but to have again a positive cash flow in 2010 will have to make profits," said pelata, adding that Renault has drastically reduced inventories and receivables.
"However, in terms of exploitation, Renault has not yet left the crisis," said pelata before opening this week at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
