Skoda sold in 2009 a total of 684,226 units, recording the best sales in its history.

Skoda Auto's sales in 2009 increased by 1.4% to a total of 684,226 units, thus reaching the highest level in company history. The level of sales increased due to market in China, and due to Western European markets, where sales were boosted by the "piece".

In China, Skoda Auto this year surpassed the 100,000 units sold. Total year 2009 this market is 122,556 units sold, with 107% more than in 2008.

The strong Western European market was still in Germany, with 190,717 newly registered units (+ 57.3%). Skoda brand has managed to increase their market share to around 3.9% in 2008 to approx. 5 % in 2009. German car market grew by 3.2% in 2009.

Among the most successful markets in 2009 was counted and Finland. Brand's market share increased from 6.8% in this country, the highest level of market share achieved by the Czech company across Western Europe. Skoda cars have such busy place in the top four most sold brands.

Compared with last year's sales figures have increased in France (4.3%), Austria (4.8%), Switzerland (3.0%) and Poland (12.7%). Eastern Europe, according to total market, has seen a decline in sales.

The model loved Skoda Octavia was in 2009 (273,590 units, that means 2.4% more than the previous year), the second successful model is Skoda Fabia (264,173 units, + 7.1%). Most increased sales but if the Superb (44,548 units, + 73.7%). A great interest was the new models and Skoda, Skoda Yeti (11,018 units) - available for sale from mid July - and Skoda Superb Combi (735 units) - available in December only for certain markets. The company also sold 47,152 units from 43,745 units Roomster and Octavia Tour.
