Honda to Recall 437,763 Cars
Honda makes a recall of nearly half a million cars for defects in a bag. Honda will recall 437,763 cars in service worldwide due to defects in airbags, after rival Toyota recalled to service more than 8.67 million vehicles, some of them having problems with the accelerator or the brake plates.
Honda Cars of the fault mentioned were sold mainly in North America, targeting the Civic and Accord models produced in 2001 and 2002.
In case of accident, air bag can explode due to excessive pressure which cause "a dispersion of the fragments of airbags, which can hurt people in the car, say company representatives, noting that more accidents were reported in this way, registering is even a death.
Honda to recall 378,758 vehicles in the United States, 41,685 in Canada, 9227 in Mexico, 4042 in Japan, the rest being from Taiwan and Australia.
Honda representatives say 514,355 cars in several countries have already been recalled to service in November 2008 until July 2009 because the same problems.
