Welcome to San Diego, where gas prices fluctuate more than the humidity. Some major gas station chains have been on a buy-out binge, attempting to wrap up the market and secure their futures.

Normal business trends in a way, and not too unlike the large home-improvement chains. buying out / driving out all the "Mom and Pop" stores, but here is the difference: It is costing us, the consumers!

UCAN (The Utility Consumer's Action Network)

UCAN was founded originally as a non-profit corporation in 1983 to protect consumers from San Diego Gas and Electric. It has since evolved to a watchdog network, attempting to protect us from all utilities and that includes the price we pay for a gallon of gas.
